Redraw of this, which was my first drawing of Yan ever, I think. He's since been drawn about three times, with some scribbles in memes and such. I know I promised side scrolling, but full wingspan looks silly if he's just sitting down polishing his sword, so I'll do the full wingspan later. This is, like, half of it. They took forever and were boring as hell to colour, I swear.
No blood on his sword this time, either, cos I've since realised he respects life far too much to really use it on anyone. This is a more fitting scene this time =3 It would beg the question as to why he even HAS a sword, until you realise he's my character, and for him not to have one would be Weird.
And Yan at 100%, just cos. The bloody wings take away from him in the full pic XD
Reference from Getty used for his left leg, cos foreshortening on organic objects is still hard =(

I think it looks lovely my dear! Such improvement from the last time <3 The background is gorgeous too, although you could prolly use more little dry-grass brushes in the back sand area, behing him and such. It seems a little too just around him ya know?
What's the pattern on his sword hilt?
I looove those boots and want some for myself. Like. now.
Something seems a bit off about the hand on the right (his left). I don't know why, maybe it's the thinness of the wrist before it disappears under cloth.]

It's an yrae :D With its neck curled around and wings sort of folded down and generally not drawn very well, cos I forgot to come back to it with a smaller brush and rework its head >>
That hand I've just never been able to figure out. Something to do with the angle of the wrist/forearm and... yeah. I don't know~
I love how much attention Yan's boots get XD *licks you*
